Valley Forge Teacher Scholarship Award Program

The 2011-12 Chairman for the California Society Valley Forge Teacher Scholarship Award Program is Curtis Porter.  

This award is open to 5th Grade Elementary School Teachers, 8th Grade and High School American History Teachers, either public, private or parochial who teach the American Revolution.  The winning Teachers (up to two each year) receive a trip to one of three Summer Graduate Teacher Workshops through the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge Pennsylvania.  (The chosen workshop will be the one most closely related to the American Revolution.)  The Award, valued up to $1,700 includes tuition, room and board*, and transportation expenses (transportation limited to $500.00).  (*meals can not be provided when the chosen workshop travels off the Foundation’s campus)

Presidential History & Heritage: Mt. Vernon to Fredericksburg, Virginia
July 7 - 13, 2012

  • Monticello (Thomas Jefferson)
  • Sherwood Forest Plantation (John Tyler)
  • Montpelier (James Madison)
  • Ash-Lawn Highland (James Monroe)
  • Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum
  • Gunston Hall (George Mason)
  • Stratford Hall ( Richard Henry Lee)
