There are six SAR Military Veterans Corps. If you served in the Armed Forces of the United States, received a discharge under conditions other than dishonorable, and you are an SAR Member in good standing, complete the Multi-Corps Survey Form, which is downloadable on the National SAR Veterans Recognition Committee.

When done return it to the SAR Veterans Recognition Committee at VetCorps@sar.org. After being approved, a Certificate of Patriotism for your service to country will be signed by the President General and sent to your chapter, through the Secretary of your State Society. At an appropriate chapter, state or national meeting the Certificate of Patriotism will be presented to you.

The California SAR became a partner with the 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration Program.  As a partner we want to recognize veterans and the families that supported them during the Vietnam period from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975.  We had the first California commemoration ceremony on Friday, April, 15, 2016 at the California SAR State meeting in Sacramento at the luncheon right after the public service awards. We recognized twenty-five veterans and six wives at this ceremony.

The next State presentation will be at the Burlingame California BOM the first weekend in November, 2016. There will additional State presentation at meetings in Southern California in April 2017 and November 2017.

We would like to recognize these individuals at the CASSAR State Meetings, but we know that is not always possible. If the chapter so desires, we will make these presentations at the chapters as a future agreed upon date.

Please advise your chapter president, if you served during the Vietnam period above, which service, years served and if you were married to your current wife at that time and her name. They will forward the information to the California State President.

The Chairman of the California Veterans Committee is Linn Malaznik and Vice Chairman is Bob Stephan.
